On September 28, 2025, the Australian Chinese Medicine Association (ACMCA) announced an important appointment decision, officially appointing Professor Lin Ziqiang, known as the "father of Chinese medicine legislation in Australia", and Dr. Zhang Yi, President of the Australian Chinese Medicine Association, as honorary advisors to the association. Their joining this time will inject core momentum into the standardization and international exchange of the Australian traditional Chinese medicine industry, quickly attracting high attention from the industry. Professor Lin Ziqiang said that the Chamber of Commerce has gathered talents and has a grand vision of building an Australian traditional Chinese medicine hospital. This move coincides with his long-standing wish and is very inspiring.

As a landmark figure in promoting the legalization of traditional Chinese medicine in the Western world, Professor Lin Ziqiang has been appointed as an honorary advisor and is regarded as an important milestone in the development of the Chamber of Commerce. After graduating from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he moved to Australia in 1978 and devoted himself to the protection of traditional Chinese medicine rights and legislation for decades. In 1983, when Victoria proposed to legislate against traditional Chinese medicine, he led the organization and lobbying to successfully resolve the crisis; In 1994, we promoted the cooperation between Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology to offer undergraduate courses in Traditional Chinese Medicine, allowing Traditional Chinese Medicine to enter the Western formal higher education system for the first time; After 15 years of hard work, in 2000, it helped Victoria pass the first Western Chinese medicine registration law, and in 2012, it further promoted Australia to become the world's first Western country to recognize the status of traditional Chinese medicine through national legislation. His contribution not only won the "Outstanding Contribution Award" from the Australian Prime Minister, but also the "Renji Cup International Traditional Chinese Medicine Contribution Award", and was praised as a "leader in the traditional Chinese medicine industry and outstanding Victorian citizen".

Dr. Zhang Yi, who is also deeply involved in the field of traditional Chinese medicine legislation, was invited to serve as an honorary advisor with his profound academic foundation and rich practical experience. As an Australian registered Chinese medicine doctor, acupuncture and moxibustion and traditional Chinese medicine dispensary, he participated in the five key stages of national registration of Australian traditional Chinese medicine and deeply participated in policy research and standard formulation; During the controversy over the registration standards for traditional Chinese medicine, he organized nearly a thousand industry forums to negotiate with the government on unreasonable terms such as English proficiency requirements, ultimately promoting the establishment of transitional policies and helping thousands of senior practitioners obtain legal professional qualifications. He, the current president of the Australian Chinese Medicine Association and executive director of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, proposed the concept of "Chinese medicine going global requires' going in and staying in '", providing key guidance for the localization development of the industry.

Dr. Chen Jianchao, President of the Australian Traditional Chinese Medicine Association, stated at the appointment ceremony: "Professor Lin Ziqiang's legislative vision and Dr. Zhang Yi's industry practice wisdom are the core resources for the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine. The addition of two honorary advisors will provide guidance for the association in policy docking, standard improvement, talent cultivation, and other fields, helping the industry break through development bottlenecks. Their valuable opinions and guidance will help the association reach new heights
